Message from our gracious host Meghan Peddicord:

My first house concert of 2014, fittingly taking place during my birthday month (those usually have the craziest, most awesome mojo) featuring two amazing Bay Area singer-songwriters that will mesmerize, entertain and make you wish upon the full moon that you could play the guitar and write songs like that. I have some sweet diversity in magical symbiosis for you on this one, friends.

I first heard Brindl play at a Joe Rathbone house concert back in 2004 Marin, hosted by none other than Drew Pearce. 10 years later, she’s released a mature, well crafted and magically produced album, Love It Up. This, from Brindl’s website: “Called “kind, sassy, and understanding” by the San Diego Troubadour, Brindl’s dynamic voice, poetic songwriting, and compelling live performances have been captivating audiences in the San Francisco Bay Area for the last decade. Inspired by songwriters like
Patty Griffin and Ray Lamontagne, Brindl is equal parts
modern-day troubadour and soulful songstress.” Grab a rainbow and download (for free, yay) the title track from her album here: https://brindl.bandcamp.com/track/love-it-up

Next up, JL Stiles. This amazing guitarist has played with dudes like BB King, Leon Redbone and Tommy Castro, and opened up for legends like Leon Russell. Here’s what the SF Weekly Live Review said: “While his blues chops may have gotten him through John Lee Hooker’s door, it’s the introspective harmonica and guitar ballads that best show off hi songwriting…coolly crooned in between harp licks over homespun finger-work on a 12-string acoustic.” Listen and prepare for your heart to bust wide open, here: http://www.jlstiles.com/Media.html

I’m also inviting one or two surprises to round this out so stay tuned. Come early to mingle and catch up with old friends!

Asking for a $10-15 donation at the door so the artists can at least pay their bridge toll and gas, yo. Bring a bottle of wine or whatever you use to wet your whistle! RSVP via PM here, or to mjpeddicord66@gmail.com and I’ll send you the address.
